Algone - About Us

Our company has celebrated it's 10th year anniversary in 2005. Since introduction of our patented water clarifier and nitrate reducer 'Algone' we have grown steadily and we continue to receive increased recognition from hobbyists all over the world.

Algone is available in many stores and availability continues to grow each year. Our approach is to serve all of our customers at the highest possible level whether it's the individual hobbyist or a big corporation.

We are located just 30 miles north of Pittsburgh. Algone is made 100% in the USA - something we are very proud to say.

Although in business since 1995 we did not immediately go online. Therefore May 27, 2007 marks our 10-year anniversary on the web.

To date we have helped thousands resolve their aquarium related problems, we have shipped Algone to thousands of satisfied customers world-wide, and have published literally millions of bytes of aquarium and fish information right here at algone.com.

Our philosophy is and remains to adhere to the simplicity of things. We do not want to cloud or complicate any issue or topic simply for the sake of sounding scientific. We have built our entire site on this philosophy and are committed to continue to serve you with first rate information and top quality products!

1998 - Our Humble Beginnings
As manufacturer of Algone we intended to make our company profile available to anyone interested. We added a product description and a few general aquarium articles. This quickly resulted in a tremendous response from our visitors. We received large amounts of aquarium and Algone related questions, which prompted us to expand and work towards creating a more informative website.

1999 - Showing Signs of Improvement
In 1999 we started our newsletter. Visitors to algone.com could easily subscribe and receive an email with all the latest site updates. Unlike many other companies we primarily focused on updates rather then one big advertisement. To this day we continue to regularly send out our site updates to thousands of subscribers.

2000 - More Color, More Depth
Work at algone.com was continuous. Our growing Website quickly evolved into a separate department with full time staff. We began to develop a reputation as a complete online reference serving up easy-to-understand, easy-to-navigate aquarium and fish information. And next to our very own Algone we began offering more high quality aquarium products.

2001 - 2003 - Still Not Done
If 5 years of online experience has taught us anything it is that we will never be done, never rest. We feel that the changes to algone.com are a nice reflection of who we are. To date we have worked hard on improving what's at hand and have been adding new articles, products, etc. We attribute the success of Algone to hard work and attention to detail. We are truly committed to serving you for many years to come!

2004 - 2006 - Just as We Thought We Finally did it
The beauty of the internet is that it is constantly evolving. In fact it's evolved so quickly that within just about a decade we have transformed from our humble beginnings into many different looks. New layouts, new color schemes, new resources, all have marked each complete site overhaul we performed. Through all these changes however the one thing that has stayed the same is Algone and it's positive effects on aquariums world wide.
